January

January Blog

Happy 2026 from Renee Press! Here in Northern California, we have had a rainy winter. I welcome the rain, whether heavy, light, windy, or not. I enjoy staying inside reading a book to the sound of rain on the roof.

Last week, I watched the wolf moon rise—the first full moon of January. Its name harks back to nights when, hungry and desperate, wolves would draw near the village edge. The sight made me ponder how thin the boundary is between civilization and wilderness. However much we seek to separate ourselves, winter reminds us that we, too, are creatures: longing for warmth, shelter, and the comfort of connection.

We hope your winter nights are warm and cozy.

Updates

1. We are still experiencing printing delays as we prepare our new workspace, so all books remain listed as out of stock for now. However, we continue to accept orders, with an estimated fulfillment time of about two weeks. If you are interested in a custom order, please email us at [email protected] before placing your order—this helps us plan and allows us to provide you with a free shipping code.

2. This month, we began construction of our new workshop. We cleaned the dirty floor and the attic. This includes rotting wood and old supports. We found three old doors, two animal nests, and construction materials up in the attic. Then came the groundwork and the placement of the piers. Now, we are laying the floor. Walls and roof to go. We hope to have a workshop by the end of the week, but all the rain has already caused delays. We can’t work on the threshold while it is wet, and we are waiting for it to dry.

3. Our large-format printer arrived last month, and we are excited to get it up and running. This printer will allow us to make color covers on both paper and cloth. It will allow us to start making covers for hardback editions of our book150s, without needing to reformat the size.
